Twilight Time

by  C. David Hay

Apollo closes his fiery eye,

Colors melt from the western sky.

Twilight steals on dusky feet,

Night sounds swell and shadows meet.

Darkened forest—misty dell—

A realm of shadows casts its spell.

Though I'm a creature of the light,

I'm mesmerized by moods of night.

Nocturnal pathways beckon me

Into a world I cannot see:

Primeval memories of a birth

When darkness veiled the face of Earth.

While others choose sunrise sublime,

I fantasize in twilight time.
