JIM SULLIVAN leads a disciplined, formal existence in South Bend, Indiana.  He is a regular reader of scientific books and frequent writer and reviewer on technical topics.  For a lot of reasons, he is well-qualified to write about “automated”.

Artist MARC SCHIRMEISTER was connected with APA-H, “The Hoax APA”, and some associated zines during his tenure in fandom.  APA-H is gone, he isn't.

PAUL TRUTTMAN writes from “The Cage”.  Not the one on Star Trek, but one located in California.  His bio notes: “born in Sacramento, California (U.S.A.) in 1947, but was raised in England and New Zealand.  Returning to the United States, served 21 years in the Navy (1966-1987).  Since being incarcerated in early 1988, had 2000 poems published in the small press markets of the United States, Canada, England, Australia, and New Zealand.  In late 2005, earned a Bachelor's Degree for General Studies from Indiana University.”

Cathy Neumeier resides in “Nowheresville, Nowhere County, in other words Shiloh, home of the nonexistent.”  She “reaches out” with stories like the one in this issue.

Steve Sneyd is the manager of Hilltop Press, which does mainly science fiction and fantasy chapbooks and small press items, and suffuses much of UK fandom, as well as being well-known in US fandom. He resides in North Yorkshire, England.

E. Mark Mitchell's fiction has appeared in Analog, among other places.

Margaret Kamazin's credits include over ninety stories published in literary and national magazines, including Rosebud, North Atlantic Review, Potomac Review, Confrontation, Virginia Adversaria, Mobius, Chiron Review and Aim Magazine. Her stories in The MacGuffin, Eureka Literary Magazine and Words of Wisdom were nominated for Pushcart awards and Piper's Ash, Ltd. published a chapbook of her sci-fi stories, COSMIC WOMEN. She helped write the introduction for and has a story included in STILL GOING STRONG (Haworth Press) and a novel, REPLACING FIONA, published by etreasurespublishing.com. One of her stories will be included in an upcoming anthology, TEN TWISTED TALES.

A. R. YNGVE, designer of the last four issues' logos as well as writer for SS, has gotten married.

Lawrence Dagstine of Brooklyn, NY, attended a reading in Greenwich Village, "a lifelong dream of mine". This photo, taken there, shows him in the company of Ellen Datlow, editor of the Sci-Fi site magazine and fomer OMNI staff member. He says he's made $2000 in writing over the last year.
